$65,000-$82,000 Our client is seeking an experienced Survey CAD Technician to join a growing Survey Department. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in survey drafting who can efficiently transform field survey data into accurate, professional survey drawings and deliverables. You'll work closely with Registered Professional Land Surveyors (RPLS), field crews, engineers, and project managers supporting land development, municipal, commercial, industrial, residential, and oil & gas projects. What You'll Do Prepare boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, subdivision plats, easements, rights-of-way, construction staking plans, and as-built surveys. Process and organize field survey data. Prepare accurate plats, exhibits, sketches, and survey-related documents. Read and interpret legal descriptions, deeds, plats, easements, and rights-of-way. Assist surveyors with boundary research and boundary survey drawings. Perform deed and plat plotting. Coordinate survey information with civil engineering and land development plans. Prepare construction staking exhibits and staking information. Maintain organized CAD files and established drafting standards. Perform quality-control reviews for accuracy and completeness. Coordinate with field crews, surveyors, engineers, and project managers. Manage multiple projects and deadlines. What We're Looking For 3+ years of professional survey CAD drafting experience. Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Civil 3D . Working knowledge of land surveying terminology and survey deliverables. Ability to interpret deeds, plats, easements, rights-of-way, legal descriptions, and property records. Experience preparing survey plats and exhibits from field survey data. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Self-motivated and comfortable taking ownership of assignments. Preferred Experience Civil 3D survey databases, surfaces, point management, alignments, and coordinate systems Subdivision plats and municipal development projects Texas surveying practices GPS/GNSS and robotic total station field data Technical or associate degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, CAD/Drafting, or a related discipline Midland or Houston candidates are strongly preferred. Candidates located in Utah may also be considered.
