As a Gas Leak Survey Technician, you will be trained to detect, locate, and evaluate gas leaks and report leaks to the local gas company. In this position you will drive a company vehicle. However, It may be required to have a reliable personal vehicle during training (typically 4-5 weeks) for daily work use. Training is typically 4-5 weeks (paid), learning how to accurately detect and classify natural gas leaks, walking 5 or more miles per day, working outdoors in all weather conditions and environments i.e.: in and around vehicular traffic, residential and commercial environments, rural environments including: tall grass, uneven walking areas, fields, city sidewalks, alley ways and at times encountering dogs and wildlife. Responsibilities & Duties Must be flexible to travel up to 75% of the time including occasional weekends may be required. Ability to fly/drive anywhere in the U.S. Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot technology as needed. Ability to drive-in all-weather conditions. Adhere to all safety and quality policies and procedures. Must be able to learn training material in classroom format and/or online courses and be able to pass all qualification tests for this role. Physical and Additional Requirements Bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking several miles per day Carry a minimum of 20 lbs. of equipment Be able to effectively communicate with customers in a courteous manner displaying excellent customer service and perform other duties as assigned Observe and follow all company/client procedures Be available for overtime (which may include weekends) Be comfortable using computers/technology What You Will Earn Starting pay is $20.25 per hour to start with an increase of .50 cents at 60 and 180 days.
