A Surveying or Mapping Technician works with surveyors and cartographers to gather data and create maps. Visits sites and records survey measurements and descriptive data. Selects data needed to create maps, including photos, aerial photos and satellite information, and helps produce and update maps that show boundaries or topographical information.

Responsible for the set-up of Survey/SUE equipment to collect data and to provide support for the field Survey/SUE party. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g.

Compensation for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hour, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Work is performed within a general office environment 5% of the time. Office work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment. Some travel required.
