Job Description
Responsibilities Allan Myers is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Survey CAD Technician to support survey operations and construction projects across the organization. This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn survey and CAD processes while working alongside experienced survey professionals. The ideal candidate is eager to develop technical skills, can manage multiple priorities, and is committed to accuracy, teamwork, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparing and maintaining survey files, drawings, and data for construction and survey projects.
- Support survey crews and office staff with roadway, utility, topographic, boundary, and as-built survey projects.
- Help review project files for accuracy and completeness prior to field use.
- Assist with basic survey calculations, data processing, and record management.
- Support the setup and maintenance of GPS and survey equipment under the guidance of senior team members.
- Learn and utilize survey software such as Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
- Process and organize survey data collected from field crews.
- Assist with managing and maintaining project documentation and survey records.
- Help ensure survey equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and ready for use.
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures and promote a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with field and office personnel to support project needs.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities. Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, CAD, Geomatics, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Internship, co-op, or coursework related to surveying, CAD, engineering, or construction is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble software, or similar applications preferred.
- Strong computer skills and willingness to learn industry-specific software and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
