What they do
A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

What you will do:
Assists department personnel with planning and scheduling of field personnel and equipment Manages, with senior management oversight, the selection, placement, training, appraisal, safety and discipline of assigned employees Oversees the direction of all field activities Maintains company vehicles, equipment and tools assigned to their operation in safe, good working order Responsible for the application of safe work practices on the job compliance with the Company's safety rules and develop safety awareness on the part of subordinates Responsible for the development of employees by leading, training, motivating, coaching and counseling employees to satisfy the expectations of their positions Responsible for cost control through the effective and efficient application of personnel, equipment and materials to provide customer satisfaction and to ensure job quality PS/SI or able to get PS/SI Other duties as assigned What you will need: Minimum 7+ years of experience in field operations Understands land survey practices Understands the operations of surveying, mapping, and related field equipment and has the ability to adapt to new equipment and technologies High School Diploma required; some college a plus Must be able to work flexible hours (nights, weekends and out of town work possible) Valid driver's license and good driving record required Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with Trimble Business Center or Leica Infinity required Experience with STAR•NET Proven work history, strong work ethic and team-player attitude Highly organized and attention to detailPreferred:
