Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

This Principal Survey Practice Lead / Division Manager opportunity puts you in responsible charge of client outcomes and division performance, with a clear long-term career-growth pathway. Qualifications and responsibilities for this Principal Survey Practice Lead / Division Manager position include: 10+ years of land surveying experience (or 12+ years equivalent work experience) with a relevant A.S. or bachelor's degree California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) registration required; reciprocity within 180 days may be considered Manage the Survey Division, including staff leadership, client relationships, business development, operations, proposals, contracts, billing, and project budgets Prepare and review boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, legal descriptions, subdivision maps/plats, land splits, and other survey maps or plats Develop and maintain client relationships with owners, developers, agencies, contractors, subcontractors, and internal company departments Implement business strategies and demonstrate the ability to develop business and marketing opportunities for the Survey Division Oversee proposals, contracts, monthly billing reports, and job budgets while ensuring financial health for projects Ensure quality control for construction layout and calculations, maintain field work diaries and timesheets, and mentor staff researching, preparing calculations, and performing surveying work
Salary:
$180,000 - $225,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
