This individual will perform design survey in support of transportation engineering projects, including but not limited to horizontal and vertical controls, boundary, topographic, tree, wetland surveys and various right of way location. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform design survey in support of transportation engineering projects, including but not limited to horizontal and vertical controls, boundary, topographic, tree, wetland surveys and various right of way location. Perform construction layout and as-built surveys. Conduct terrestrial LiDAR surveys. Gather field survey data using conventional and Global Positioning System (GPS) methods. Lead survey crew on assignments to ensure accurate completion of tasks. Ensuring crew has equipment and prepared for daily assignment. Protect and maintain survey equipment. Operate equipment accurately and efficiently to acquire necessary data. Ensure that work is conducted to company standards. Train crew members in methods, equipment, and safety procedures. Set up, adjust, and operate survey equipment in order to measure distances, elevations, and angles. Record complete and accurate field notes. Work with Field Crew Supervisor to schedule project workload. Other duties as assigned. Requirements 5 years of survey experience with FDOT survey experience . CST Certification a plus. High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school. Valid Florida driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required. Have basic math and calculator skills. Ability to travel (up to 50% of the time). Required to travel overnight when needed. Required to work 50+ hours during busy periods. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to walk for long periods of time through all kinds of terrain, uneven ground and sometimes water. Ability to carry and lift equipment as needed on project.
