The Surveying Manager will lead the technical and professional direction of a group of land surveyors professionals in the South Florida area. The Surveying Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, data collection, development, and delivery of quality land surveying products, managing and directing field and office survey staff. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Expectations include boundary determination, pricing & scoping, quality assurance and quality control of surveying products and procedures, communication with internal and external clients and other survey discipline team members, and crew scheduling. The candidate should have foundational knowledge of topographic, control/geodetic, transportation, subsurface utility, and boundary/ROW determination. Responsibilities Coach, mentor, direct, and delegate tasks to technical team members to ensure quality project deliverables. Provide technical expertise and leadership during the proposal and planning phases. Perform other duties as requested. Experienced in all aspects of surveying such as: Platting, Boundary, ALTA, Topographic, Legal Descriptions, Construction Layout and As-built Surveys. Capable of managing field crews and office cad staff, along with doing necessary research, survey calculations and Quality Control. Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, geospatial technologies, and mapping software. Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Prepare project data for field work, schedule field crews, review and process field data, perform adjustments and QA/QC of the raw field data; Lead the preparation and modification of written descriptions, survey plans, reports and CAD deliverables for projects; Maintain existing client relationships as well as participate in business development activities with new and existing clients; Write proposals and project scopes and prepare estimates, project budgets and reports; Manage multiple projects with different deadlines and development budgets and schedules; Actively participate in client and regulatory meetings; and Perform analysis for complex boundary surveys and prepare associated plats and boundary descriptions. Conduct advanced calculations involving field survey data. Assist with the preparation of right-of-way plans and conduct quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) on said plans. Prepare or review survey reports and legal descriptions. Develop scopes of work, schedules, and estimates for survey projects. Ensure project quality control and quality assurance processes are in place. Requirements State of Florida Professional Surveyor License (PS) or equivalent certification is required. Proven experience in land surveying management or a similar leadership role within civil engineering or construction environments. Strong proficiency with survey equipment including GPS systems (Trimble), 3D scanners, total stations, and related data collection tools. Extensive knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, Carlson, and Schematics for drafting and modeling purposes. Solid understanding of civil engineering principles related to land development projects and construction processes. Demonstrated expertise in trigonometry, algebra, geometry, math fundamentals essential for precise surveying calculations.
