Contingent upon contract award Position Summary OSFI Consulting LLC is seeking a WLAN Design & Survey Documentation Engineer to support a wireless heat-mapping and WLAN design engagement at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida. The engineer will work with the lead WLAN survey engineer during field collection and convert validated survey results into heat maps, AP-placement documentation, estimated cabling pathways, network drawings, a Bill of Materials, and the final Remediation & Design Report. Responsibilities Support WLAN survey operations across approximately 309,000 square feet in six dormitory buildings . Prepare and organize building and floor-plan files for survey use. Support organization of 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz field-survey data. Organize RSSI, SNR, CCI/ACI, spectrum-analysis, and throughput results. Produce or support RF heat maps showing RSSI, SNR, projected data rates, and tri-band coverage. Translate validated survey results into recommended X/Y AP locations . Develop AP-placement and estimated cable-pathway drawings using Microsoft Visio or comparable software. Document AP mounting recommendations and channel/transmit-power recommendations. Develop and validate the WLAN Bill of Materials . Consolidate survey findings into the final Remediation & Design Report. Verify consistency between survey data, heat maps, drawings, BOM, and written recommendations. Support final technical and deliverable-quality review. Required Qualifications Experience with WLAN/network engineering, wireless site surveys, or network infrastructure. Familiarity with Ekahau, AirMagnet, or comparable WLAN survey platforms. Understanding of RSSI, SNR, CCI/ACI, wireless spectrum, and throughput. Familiarity with 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz wireless networking. Experience producing network diagrams using Microsoft Visio or comparable software . Experience preparing technical reports, network diagrams, hardware inventories, or Bills of Materials. Ability to work onsite at Tyndall AFB during field collection. Ability to satisfy Federal installation access requirements.
Compensation:
$31.00/hour W-2 base pay plus applicable SCA Health & Welfare fringe. Approved project travel will be separately covered or reimbursed by OSFI.
Expected hours:
30-40 hours per week. Overtime is not anticipated and requires prior authorization. This position is contingent upon contract award.
