JUNIOR SURVEY PARTY CHIEF

position provides front-line supervisory guidance to survey field crews while performing preliminary, construction, boundary and control surveys.

Typical Duties:

Provides effective day-to-day supervision and training of assigned survey crew staff. Reads and interprets plans and specifications. Operates and maintains a variety of survey equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Determines equipment, materials and personnel needed for specific jobs. Identifies and implements priorities, effective courses of action in order to complete work assignments by established deadlines. Maintains files of maps, documents, and other records. Performs extensive surveying calculations for grades, angles and distances. Makes legible survey notes and drawings. Efficiently operates survey instruments, including GPS, robotics, electronic total stations and data collectors. Enters survey data in an organized and coherent manner into a data collector. Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures. Education and/or

Work Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required. Equivalent combination of 4 years of education and relevant, progressive technical surveying experience preferred. Land Surveyor-in-Training preferred. Knowledge of surveying principles and practices and engineering design and construction practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Valid Driver's License

• Must be insurable by fleet insurer; driving history will be reviewed by agent and underwriter The ability to work a regular schedule of 7:30 AM
• 5:30 PM Monday through Thursday and 7:30 AM
• 12:00 PM Friday Must be able to pass a background check as required by military, industrial, port, and other client sites.
