Job Description

Surveyor To be considered, you must have 5+ years of heavy civil construction surveying experience. Are you a detail-oriented professional who thrives in the field? Are you comfortable working independently while supporting field crews with critical layout and verification data? If so, we want to speak with you. C.A. Murren is seeking an experienced Surveyor to support heavy civil construction projects, including earthwork, underground wet utilities (water, sewer, storm drainage), site development, and concrete structures. This role plays a vital part in ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficiency in the field. Key Responsibilities Perform construction layout for underground utilities, structures, grading, concrete pours, embeds, and anchor bolts Verify installation accuracy of underground utilities and graded areas Establish and maintain benchmarks for pipe installation and associated structures Perform elevation and horizontal control calculations, including slope calculations Create and provide final as-built data and documentation Develop and maintain accurate field notes and documentation Operate robotic total stations, auto levels, and related survey equipment Utilize Trimble Siteworks and Carlson SurvCE for field data collection Generate as-built plans and support project documentation requirements Communicate survey data clearly to field crews and translate technical survey terminology into practical field direction Maintain survey equipment in proper working conditions Work independently in varying terrain and weather conditions Qualifications 5+ years of heavy civil construction survey experience Strong experience with construction layout and underground utility projects Proficiency with Trimble Siteworks Experience operating robotic total stations and auto levels Ability to perform field calculations for elevations and horizontal control Strong written and verbal communication skills Self-driven with the ability to work independently Ability to remain standing and walking for extended periods and carry survey equipment Preferred Qualifications Experience with Carlson Desktop Software Experience with Trimble Business Center Experience with Civil3D FAA Part 107
