What they do

A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Field Intern position must be able to effectively communicate (both written and verbal) to all levels both within and outside the organization in a professional and timely manner. A few of the specific responsibilities will include: Individuals will assist Project Managers and Superintendents with the tracking of quantities, submittals, RFI development, layout/surveying, Daily cost tracking, daily reports, quality control and support of our safety plan. Knife River requires all employees to successfully pass a post-offer pre-employment drug test as well as random tests throughout employment.
Minimum Qualifications:
1.Candidates are preferred to be pursuing a 4-year degree in Civil or other Engineering, Construction Management. 2. Self-Start with the desire to learn and grow. 3. Fluency in Microsoft Office required, MS Excel, Outlook, Word, Project 4. Successful applicant must have a valid driver's license and a qualifying driving record under Company Policy.
