Job Description

GPS Professional Coffman Excavation is a growing leader in the earthwork industry. We are looking for a GPS Professional with a construction background to join our team. We take great pride in our work, employees and our community. We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented GPS Professional to support our construction operations through surveying, GPS technology, CAD modeling, drone operations, and machine control systems. This position primarily provides office-based support to field operations and project management teams by developing grading models, preparing layout files, maintaining survey data, and supporting machine control technology. Limited field work and occasional travel are required.

Some overtime is expected during the busy season. Current project schedule may include a 60-60-50 work rotation.

Boise, Idaho Job Tasks:
Survey & Machine Control Operate and support Topcon surveying and machine control equipment, including: RTK GPS Rovers Total Stations Rotary and Pipe Lasers 2D and 3D Machine Control Systems Ability to set and maintain survey control for aerial surveys and for continuity of field procedures. Assist with machine control setup, troubleshooting, and technical support. This is not required but any exposure to machine controls and heavy equipment is helpful. CAD & Model Development Develop grading models using CAD experience, such as Civil 3D or Carlson Take-off.
Responsibilities include:
Building grading models Prepare linework/layout files Process, update, and maintain as-built utility files. Provide technical support to project managers and field personnel. Drone Operations Obtain a Part 107 drone license within three (3) months of hire. Fly automated photogrammetry missions for topography and quantity analysis. Fly free-flight missions for project progress photos and marketing.
Experience/Requirements:
Minimum of 3-4 years of field experience in land surveying or heavy civil construction surveying and at least 2 years of CAD experience (Civil 3D or Carlson take-off). Must have or obtain a Part 107 drone license within 3 months of hire. Must be willing to travel on an as-needed basis (minimal) Mainly for office/tech help in Idaho but would need to be able to cover in Eastern OR/WA as needed. Must be a member of, or willing to join, IUOE Local 302 . Must pass drug screens of varying levels and be able to pass background checks for sensitive sites and airports.
Salary & Benefits:
