What they do

A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Job Description

TWM is seeking an experienced professional in construction field services to perform construction observation services . We are looking for a motivated individual with the experience and skills to immediately contribute and handle a variety of projects.
Experience Level:
2-5 years
Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours / week, with the possibility of additional hours

Based in
Peoria, IL Salary:
$25.00-$30.00/hr. -- Salary is commensurate with experience Essential job functions:
  • Observe and document the construction of transportation-related projects, such as roadways and trails, water system projects, such as water main and plant upgrades, while representing the project owner/TWM client.
  • Check that projects are built to plans and specifications
  • Coordinate with office staff and contractors
  • Conduct site/field visits as needed
Qualifications Desired:
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus
  • At least 2 years of experience in civil construction.
  • HigConstruction Observation experience with one or more of the following entities is a plus: IDOT, Local Public Agencies, Utility Companies.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills, along with ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and the public
  • Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Willingness to work hard
  • Attention to detail
