Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in Indianapolis is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary team. What You'll Do:
As a Survey Crew Chief, you'll be a leader and a key part of our survey field team, responsible for:
Leading Field Operations:
Directing a field crew on a variety of projects, including topographic, boundary, and
ALTA/NSPS
land title surveys, as well as construction stakeouts.
Operating Advanced Equipment:
Independently using and troubleshooting modern survey equipment. A strong working knowledge of Trimble survey equipment (e.g., robotic total stations, GPS) and software is required.
Data Integrity and QA/QC:
Ensuring the accuracy and quality of all field data, maintaining detailed field notes, and performing on-site quality control.
Team and Project Management:
Managing project schedules, coordinating with project managers and clients, and training and mentoring junior crew members.
Problem-Solving:
Applying your experience to solve complex field challenges and adapting to changing project conditions. This role is ideal for a seasoned surveyor who is ready to lead a crew and contribute to a wide range of exciting and complex projects. Qualifications 8+ years of survey crew chief experience Demonstrated experience in the use of GPS devices, data collectors and/or Total Station Work requires independent judgment and initiative Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and practices of land surveying Knowledge of the principles, practices, and instruments used in computer aided drafting Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices and construction specifications, plans, and regulations related to construction Knowledge of industry specific safe workplace principles and practices Familiarity with Column and Bolt-Pattern layout and as-built survey Familiar with detailed Topographic Surveys and ADA Surveys Ability to operate motorized equipment Ability to work outdoors under various field conditions Some travel maybe required Valid driver's license required About Us We have experts!
