Position:
Population Survey Methodologist SME IIILocation:
Psychological Health Center of Excellence (PHCoE)
Work Environment:
Hybrid / Telework Eligible (Routine and situational telework is authorized. Facility space restrictions may necessitate part-time or full-time telework.)

$120,000 - $160,000Knowesis is seeking an SME III - Population Survey Methodologist to be the principal authority on survey methodology and measurement for large-scale DoD populations. This expert will lead the design, sampling, statistical analysis, and dissemination for crucial survey efforts, specifically focusing on the Health-Related Behaviors Survey (HRBS).The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Provide senior-level subject matter expertise on survey methodology and measurement for DoD populations.
  • Advise on the design, implementation, and dissemination of large population-level surveys within the DoD.
  • demonstrated expertise in survey design, sampling methods, survey statistics, and interpretation of survey findings to support the execution of the Health-Related Behaviors Survey.
  • Produce technical artifacts (e.
g., reports, tools, briefings, presentations, and manuscripts) consistent with the PHCoE mission set.
Required Qualifications:
  • Doctorate (PhD) in Epidemiology, Psychology, or a related field with a focus on survey methodology.
  • At least 8 years of full-time postdoctoral work experience providing methodological inputs to complex multi-site surveys.
  • At least 3 years of full-time postdoctoral experience leading large survey projects.
  • Scientific publication record reflecting academic or federal research deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience navigating DoD survey licensing and regulatory approvals.
  • Expertise in complex survey weighting and variance estimation techniques.
