A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Job Description

Jones & Beach Engineers, Inc. has an opening for an entry-level employee to work on our survey field crews. Jones & Beach Engineers, Inc. is a diversified, New Hampshire-based civil/site engineering firm. We provide civil engineering, land surveying, and construction services to industrial, municipal, commercial, healthcare, and residential clients throughout the seacoast region of New Hampshire, northern Massachusetts, and southern Maine. The company is well established, having been in business since 1977. We have a dedicated team of 30+ civil engineers, surveyors, and administrative support staff. Field survey activities include running a Total Station and Data Collector as a part of a two-person crew, performing boundary and topographic surveys, and performing construction layout for municipal, commercial, and private development projects. Candidates shall be able to perform physical tasks such as clearing brush, hammering grade stakes, and lifting and carrying approximately 40 lbs. of equipment in all types of terrain and year-round weather conditions. This is a full-time position and qualifies for all our employee benefits. Salary dependent on experience. Prior experience in surveying or construction is beneficial but not required.
