What they do
A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
All types of field work including: Boundary & Topographical Surveys, Construction Layout, As-Built surveys Conduct field calculations and sketching Downloading and compilation of field data sketches; and processing raw field data Quality control of all survey documents, including field notes, sketches, plans, etc. Supervision and maintenance of company vehicle, cellular phone for business related purposes and survey equipment after completion of orientation period Supervision, preventative maintenance and repair of survey field equipment Occasional road trips with overnight stays, as required Other duties as assigned #INDBenefits
