Lockout/Tagout Equipment Surveyor Visual Safety Systems LLC Buffalo, NY Job Details Full-time $40 - $55 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Environmental compliance Attention to detail Industrial equipment Hazardous energy control Mechanical knowledge Full Job Description Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Lockout/Tagout Equipment Surveyor to ensure the safety and compliance of lockout/tagout procedures within manufacturing environments. This vital role involves inspecting, assessing, and maintaining lockout/tagout devices and equipment to prevent accidental energization during maintenance or repair activities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about workplace safety, possess strong regulatory knowledge, and demonstrate excellent report writing and root cause analysis skills. Duties Conduct comprehensive surveys of lockout/tagout equipment across manufacturing facilities to verify proper installation, functionality, and compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations. Identify potential hazards related to hazardous materials regulations, environmental health standards, and occupational health requirements. Document survey findings meticulously through detailed reports, highlighting areas for improvement or immediate corrective action. Assist in root cause analysis of equipment failures or safety incidents related to lockout/tagout practices. Support environmental management systems by ensuring that hazardous materials are properly controlled during maintenance activities.

• Prior lockout/tagout experience is a plus, but training will be provided. Qualifications Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and facilities. Familiarity with the 7 primary energies. Mechanical aptitude. Understanding of various piping systems (Water, Steam, Chemical, etc.). Electrical background is important. Previous experience as a machine tool/automation builder is advantageous. Strong documentation and communication skills. Proficiency in using MS Word and Excel.
