Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Professional Surveyor to join our team and lead land surveying projects with precision and expertise. In this role, you will utilize advanced surveying technology and software to collect, analyze, and interpret spatial data, ensuring accurate mapping and documentation for a variety of civil engineering, construction, and land development projects. Your expertise will help shape infrastructure development, land boundaries, and construction plans while maintaining compliance with legal and industry standards. Duties Conduct land surveys using GPS, total stations, 3D scanners, and other advanced surveying equipment to gather precise spatial data. Prepare detailed topographic maps, schematics, and land descriptions utilizing CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, Carlson, and ArcGIS. Develop accurate legal descriptions for property boundaries and assist in ALTA surveys to meet client requirements. Manage data collection efforts for construction plans, site layouts, and topographic mapping while ensuring data integrity. Create detailed drawings and schematics for civil engineering projects, incorporating survey data into construction plans. Lead or collaborate with mapping or surveying teams to ensure project deadlines are met with high-quality results. Perform GIS analysis to support land development initiatives and facilitate decision-making processes related to land use planning. Apply principles of algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and math to solve complex surveying challenges efficiently. Maintain comprehensive records of field notes, survey data, legal descriptions, and project documentation in accordance with industry standards. Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards during all phases of surveying activities. Experience Proven experience in land surveying within civil engineering or construction environments. Proficiency in GIS platforms such as ArcGIS and knowledge of 3D scanning technology is highly desirable. Strong skills in CAD software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, Carlson, and Schematics drafting. Hands-on experience with GPS surveying techniques using Trimble or similar equipment. Familiarity with topographic mapping, ALTA surveys (American Land Title Association), legal descriptions, and managing mapping teams. Background in construction plans development and working closely with civil engineers on project execution. Ability to interpret schematics, manage data collection efforts accurately, and produce detailed reports. Knowledge of civil engineering principles combined with practical experience in construction or site development is a plus.
