Survey Crew Chief Harshman CE Group - Washington, PA Harshman CE Group is seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to oversee all aspects of field survey work including assuring the quality of the data collected and tracking progress against approved budgets. This position involves using conventional, robotic, and GPS equipment to tackle large and small boundary surveys, existing conditions surveys, subdivisions/consolidations, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, construction stakeout, and monitoring projects. Land Surveying can become a fulfilling career for a motivated detail-oriented individual with the possibility of professional licensure without requiring a college degree.

Typical Activities:

• Lead and direct field survey work as part of a field survey crew
• Communicate with office personnel in a clear and timely manner
• Manage budgets on field survey work
• Download and upload data from field data collectors to office network
• Coordinate with office staff on maintenance of survey equipment and survey vehicle
• Ensure proper documentation of field data and locations
• Perform and document independent field calculations verifiable by office staff

Desired Experience:

• Four (4) + years of experience in the surveying field
• Experience with conventional survey equipment
• Ability to read and understand plans and deeds
• Strong communication skills
• Detail Oriented
• Valid Driver's License
• The ability to pass a drug screening.
• The ability to carry up to 50 pounds of supplies and equipment in varying terrains and deal with most weather conditions

Bonus Experience:

• Robotic and/or GPS equipment experience or willingness to learn
• AutoCAD experience or willingness to learn
