What they do

A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Job Description

Pay:
$25.00 - $40.00 per hour Job description: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Draft survey plans, plats, and as-builts using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) Process field data from total stations, GPS, and laser scanning Create and manage base maps, alignments, and surfaces Assist with boundary, topographic, and construction layout drawings Preparation of pipeline alignment sheets and plats Ideal candidate should have 3-5 years office/field experience, be proficient in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D with knowledge of land surveying methods and procedures. Experience with transportation (Penn
DOT, PTC
) and oil and gas projects preferred.
