This role involves managing survey operations for roadway and corridor projects, ensuring accurate data collection, boundary determination, and delivery of high-quality survey products to support design and construction. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in transportation-related surveying, field operations, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities Perform and oversee boundary, topographic, and transportation-related surveys Support roadway and corridor projects through survey control, mapping, and construction staking Prepare and review survey plats, legal descriptions, and mapping deliverables Conduct courthouse/title research to verify ownership and property limits Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and transportation stakeholders Manage field crews and ensure accurate data collection using GPS and Total Stations Ensure compliance with state and federal surveying standards, including DOT requirements Process and analyze survey data using AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar software Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior staff Minimum Qualifications Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license (Pennsylvania preferred or ability to obtain) Minimum 5+ years of land surveying experience with transportation projects Strong experience with: Boundary and topographic surveys, Construction staking for roadway projects, Control surveys, and mapping Proficiency with survey equipment (GPS, Total Station) Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D / Carlson / Trimble software Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites Preferred Qualifications Experience working on projects with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Familiarity with DOT standards, procedures, and plan preparation requirements Previous experience managing survey crews or leading projects
