What they do
A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

- Active California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required Extensive experience performing boundary research, analysis, and resolution Strong knowledge of California boundary law, subdivision mapping, and land surveying principles Experience preparing ALTA surveys, Records of Survey, legal descriptions, plats, exhibits, parcel maps, and right-of-way mapping Proficiency with Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center Experience processing and interpreting field survey data while integrating historical record information Ability to provide QA/QC oversight for survey deliverables and mapping products Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, agencies, title companies, and project teams Passion for mentoring survey staff and contributing to technical excellence across the department A bit about us:•Our client is a well-established multidisciplinary engineering and surveying consulting firm known for delivering technically challenging land development, infrastructure, transportation, and public works projects throughout California.
