RPLS / Surveying Team LeadResidential Surveying | In-House Position We are looking for an experienced Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) to lead and develop our in-house surveying team. The majority of our work supports residential construction and development, so we are looking for someone who understands the pace, accuracy, and practical requirements of residential surveying. This is an opportunity to take ownership of the surveying function within our company, while working closely with our construction and project teams. Responsibilities Serve as the company's RPLS and surveying lead, responsible for the professional oversight of surveying work. Manage and oversee day-to-day surveying operations and the in-house surveying team. Review, prepare, and sign/seal survey plats, documents, and other professional surveying deliverables as required. Perform and oversee boundary, construction, topographic, elevation, and residential property surveys. Provide surveying support for residential construction projects from initial site work through completion. Establish and maintain efficient surveying procedures, standards, and quality-control processes. Review field data and survey work for accuracy and completeness. Coordinate with project managers, construction personnel, engineers, architects, and other professionals. Help schedule and prioritize surveying projects based on construction needs. Train, mentor, and develop survey technicians and field personnel. Assist with troubleshooting surveying issues in the field and finding practical solutions. Maintain accurate project records and documentation. Help evaluate and implement surveying equipment, software, and technology as the company grows. What We're Looking For Current RPLS license in Texas Strong experience in land surveying, with an emphasis on residential construction and development. Solid understanding of boundary surveying, construction staking, elevations, and residential site conditions. Ability to review and confidently stand behind the accuracy of surveying work. Experience leading, supervising, or mentoring surveying personnel. Strong knowledge of surveying equipment, field procedures, and survey software. Ability to read and interpret plats, plans, legal descriptions, and construction documents. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with construction and project teams. Ability to work independently and take ownership of the surveying department. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who is hands-on, technically strong, and comfortable taking ownership . You should be able to move between reviewing a boundary survey, helping solve a field issue, coordinating with a project manager, and making sure the team is producing accurate work.
