Job Description

Entry Level Field Engineer - Construction Evans Contracting Group LLC is looking for a dependable and motivated Field Engineer to join our construction team. This is a hands-on field position supporting our Superintendents and field crews with construction layout, surveying, measurements, elevations, and daily field operations . The ideal candidate will have construction experience and experience with a Total Station and laser level for construction layout . Evans Contracting Group is willing to train the right candidate who has a strong construction background, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a fast-paced field environment. Responsibilities Perform and assist with construction layout and field measurements Operate and maintain Total Station and laser level equipment Establish and verify elevations, grades, control points, lines, and layout Perform layout for foundations, footings, slabs, walls, columns, and other concrete construction Read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications Verify dimensions, elevations, and locations in the field Assist Superintendents and field crews with layout and technical field needs Perform field measurements and quantity verification Identify and communicate potential layout or construction issues Maintain accurate field notes and layout records Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and field crews Assist with daily jobsite needs and other field duties as required Follow all company safety policies and jobsite requirements Qualifications Some construction experience is preferred Experience with Total Station and laser levels is strongly preferred Experience with concrete construction and/or site work is a plus Ability to read and understand construction plans Basic understanding of elevations, grades, measurements, and construction layout Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a field team Dependable, hardworking, and willing to learn Must be comfortable working outdoors and around active construction sites Must be willing to travel throughout the Southeast, with up to 50% travel Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Education Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related education is a plus, but hands-on construction and field experience will be highly valued .
