Job Description

Who We Are Central Texas Tiltwall, LP is a turn-key concrete company based in Austin, TX that specializes in commercial construction projects in the Central Texas region. Position Summary We are looking for a full-time Construction Field Surveyor. The Construction Field Surveyor performs a variety of critical surveying tasks, including boundary verification, construction layout, as-built surveys, and drawing development to support projects. This role ensures work meets specifications and tolerances by establishing and maintaining horizontal and vertical control, verifying elevations, and assisting with quality control on-site. Responsibilities also include inspecting construction activities for compliance, verifying the correct installation of embeds and anchor bolts in concrete structures, and providing accurate grades for formwork, concrete, and rebar placement. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Proficient with the use of total stations, robotic total stations, auto levels, data collectors, laptops and the related software to perform an accurate layout including generation of all digital coordinate points Maintain equipment and ensure it is in proper working condition. Interpret and understand construction plans accurately and identify discrepancies in drawings prior to execution. Establish building control vertical and horizontal. Establish and verify correct installation of embeds, anchor bolts etc. in concrete structure. Perform and document as-built conditions as needed for embeds, concrete, other structural components and existing conditions. Run level loops and provide grades for formwork, concrete and rebar placement. Set up and maintain permanent control throughout the entire line and grade portion of the project. Check work for accuracy and deliver as-built surveys to the project team to ensure proper execution. Document daily job site activities and conditions Perform Field Engineering duties on multiple projects Work collaboratively with Superintendents, Project Managers, and other trades to resolve field issues. Maintain the highest level of Quality Assurance and ensure all site personnel adhere to OSHA, State, and Federal regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of experience working as a field engineer or surveyor in light industrial or commercial concrete construction Experience running a total station, Data Collector, sight/laser levels, and many other tools and instruments Knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Dropbox, and Outlook), Bluebeam, web based permitting programs, and cloud-based file management including taking and uploading digital photographs Knowledge of AutoCad software and experience with .DWG and .DXF file formats Ability to understand and interpret civil, structural, architectural, and shop drawings Strong attention to detail and excellent communication and interpersonal skill Outstanding organizational and time-management skills with the ability to produce quality work and meet deadlines Collaborative attitude and teamwork personality Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance Compensation Pay range based on experience 401(k) program Health, Dental, Vision plan Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays Company truck or allowance Phone Toll tag Fuel card
