CIVIL CONSTRUCTION SURVEYOR

Stout Excavating Group Texas (SEG) is currently filling a position for a Civil Construction Surveyor. The position will work directly with other Surveyors and SEG Tx Management to ensure the overall success of SEG Tx operations. If you have strong industry experience, education, and shown stability with past employers. Applicants must be willing to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and have references available. Wage is negotiable based on experience and education. Position is available immediately. Tasks/Responsibilities Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard surveying techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. Flying Drones on Job Sites and using that data to better serve jobsite. Operation and upkeep Trimble GPS (Rover & Machine Control Units) Plan, schedule, or coordinate detailed phases of the surveying work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope. Perform work that involves standard surveying practice but may include a variety of complex features. Maintain neat and legible field notes for survey operations. Maintain inventory of required equipment to perform project. Daily cleaning and organization of survey equipment and supplies. Follows company and work site safety policies/procedures. Be responsible for all flight operations and data collection. Ensure compliance with all FAA regulations, and all federal, local, and state safety practices. Travel to jobsites to perform work. Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
5 years of technical engineering/land surveying experience Surveying and Mapping experience in the areas of land development, mine development, site development, public works, transportation/TxDOT. Must be able to follow direction. Ability to work overtime as needed Ability to conduct construction layout and as-built survey Effective communication skills. Ability to operate independently. 50-65 hours per week This position requires fluent use of the verbal and written English language Experience in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Suite Products. Ability to travel when necessary. Ability to collaborate and work effectively as a team.
