We are a Civil Engineering firm serving residential, commercial, and land-development projects throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This position is ideal for an experienced RPLS seeking professional independence, leadership responsibility, and the opportunity to help build a growing survey department. The successful candidate will oversee surveying projects from initial research and field coordination through final review, certification, and delivery. For the right candidate, this position also offers performance-based profit sharing and a potential pathway to partnership or equity ownership. Key Responsibilities Manage boundary, topographic, platting, ALTA/NSPS, easement, right-of-way, and construction surveying projects. Review and certify plats, surveys, legal descriptions, easements, and other survey documents. Coordinate field crews, survey technicians, clients, engineers, title companies, and governmental agencies. Perform technical review and quality control of field data, calculations, exhibits, and final deliverables. Establish project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing requirements. Assist with proposals, client relationships, and business development. Develop and maintain surveying standards, procedures, and quality-control practices. Ensure compliance with applicable Texas laws, TBPELS requirements, municipal standards, and professional surveying practices. Work closely with the civil engineering team on residential and commercial land-development projects. Required Qualifications Active Texas Registered Professional Land Surveyor license in good standing. Minimum of five years of relevant surveying experience. Strong knowledge of Texas boundary law, platting, easements, legal descriptions, and land-development surveying. Experience reviewing field data and preparing or supervising final survey deliverables. Ability to sign and seal professional surveying documents. Strong organizational, communication, and project-management skills. Ability to work independently and provide leadership to survey personnel. Valid Texas driver's license. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience managing a surveying team or department. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey data-processing software. Familiarity with municipal platting and land-development requirements within the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Experience preparing proposals, developing client relationships, and generating new business. Experience coordinating surveying work with civil engineering design teams.
