A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Job Description

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Survey CADD Operator to join our Survey/Geospatial team in Houston, TX. In this role, you'll transform field survey data into accurate, high-quality drawings that support land development and infrastructure projects. Join a collaborative team, work with cutting-edge technology, and grow your career with a nationally recognized engineering and design firm. Ability to draft parcels, or subdivision boundaries from legal descriptions using CAD techniques (Civil 3D). Maintains average skills in the use of AutoCAD (MicroStation a plus). Ability and knowledge to perform Topographic survey, ALTA survey, Boundary Survey, As built Survey etc. Ability to read and plot Legal descriptions. Performs drafting of portions of routine projects under direction of project surveyor. Understands surveying terminology. Prepares a variety of survey products. Adheres to AutoCAD standards manual. High School Diploma/Equivalent; Associates Degree or a Certificate from a technical school, preferably in Auto
CAD. 2-5
years of related experience. (Previous survey experience a plus). Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and Carlson OEM or Embedded highly preferred. Work within a team oriented environment to successfully complete a high volume of projects within established budgets and deadlines. Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
