We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Survey Crew Instrument Man /Party Crew Chief to join our team in Killeen, TX. Full-time Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain surveying instruments such as levels, GPS, and total stations to collect accurate field data.
- Conduct detailed land surveys and construction staking under the supervision of a licensed surveyor and/or Party Crew Chief.
- Record and maintain precise field notes, sketches, maps, and reports to ensure accurate project documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to address and resolve issues concerning measurements and site layouts.
- Assist crew members in clearing brush, carrying equipment, driving stakes, locating surveying monuments, holding a level rod, and other task as needed by party crew chief.
- Ensure all survey equipment and the crew truck are properly stocked, maintained, and prepared for each workday.
- Perform routine maintenance on surveying equipment as required.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols on all project sites.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma is required; further education in surveying, geomatics, or a related field is advantageous.Experience:
Previous experience in land surveying preferred, but strong entry-level candidates will be considered.Technical Skills:
Proficiency in operating surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS units, and data collectors is preferred (on-the-job training will be provided).Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to follow directions from supervisor and management team.Physical Requirements:
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, traverse different terrains, and lift up to 35 lbs. consistently.- Ability to work well with a team.
