What You'll Do As the Senior Survey Party Chief, you'll lead field survey operations while ensuring projects are built accurately, efficiently, and safely.
Responsibilities include:
Lead and supervise field survey crews on Heavy Civil construction projects. Perform construction layout, topographic surveys, right-of-way surveys, and quantity calculations. Calculate lines, grades, elevations, and field measurements. Maintain and verify GPS machine control systems. Coordinate closely with Superintendents, Engineers, and Project Managers. Schedule and oversee multiple survey crews across active projects. Prepare and maintain survey documentation and field data. Verify as-built conditions and project quantities. Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot survey equipment. Download and process electronic survey data. Review all field work for accuracy before project delivery. Mentor and develop Survey Technicians and Survey Trainees. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who enjoys leading from the field and takes ownership of delivering accurate work. You'll be a great fit if you have: 5+ years of experience as a Survey Party Chief or Senior Surveyor in Heavy Civil Construction. Experience leading field survey crews. Strong knowledge of construction layout, grading, earthwork, and right-of-way surveying. Experience using GPS, Total Stations, electronic levels, and data collection systems. Experience with machine control and GPS verification. Proficiency with drafting or survey software. Strong communication and leadership skills. A valid driver's license. Experience with Leica survey equipment is a plus.
