Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Job Description

Overview Construction Field Intern At Suncore, we believe the best way to learn construction is in the field. As a family-owned company with more than 80 years of construction experience, we're committed to developing the next generation of construction professionals through meaningful, hands-on jobsite experience. We're looking for an enthusiastic Construction Field Intern to work alongside Field Supervisors, Field Engineers, and construction crews on active jobsites in the Central Wasatch area. You'll gain firsthand experience with daily operations, crew coordination, layout, quantities, as-builts, surveying, quality control, and project documentation. If you're pursuing a degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering and want to turn classroom knowledge into real-world experience, we'd love to meet you.
Schedule:
Hourly, part-time, approximately 20-30 hours per week, with work hours between 6:30 AM and 5:00 PM. Schedule is flexible based on intern availability and project needs. What You'll Do Gain hands-on experience supporting Field Supervisors, Field Engineers, and crews on active jobsites. Assist with daily field operations, crew coordination, project layout, and quality control. Track field quantities, materials, costs, and progress to support project documentation and billing. Assist with field measurements, as-builts, GPS verification, and surveying. Prepare reports related to work progress, costs, and scheduling. Work with field leadership to improve construction processes, productivity, and jobsite procedures. Develop practical knowledge of safety, scheduling, production, quality, and project coordination. Build relationships with experienced construction professionals while exploring a career in field operations. What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Basic to intermediate knowledge of the construction industry. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Dependable, self-motivated, and willing to take initiative. Comfortable working outdoors and on active construction jobsites. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage changing priorities and deadlines. Hands-on, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn from experienced field professionals.
