Project Surveyor /
Senior Project Surveyor Location:
Chantilly, VA Position Summary:
Seeking a Project Surveyor/Senior Project Surveyor with 5+ years of land surveying and drafting experience . The role involves transforming field data, survey notes, and legal descriptions into accurate technical drawings, maps, and survey plats for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare Boundary, Topographic, ALTA/NSPS, Subdivision, As-Built, Easement, and Right-of-Way surveys. Import and process field data, GPS coordinates, CSV files, DTMs, surfaces, and contours in AutoCAD Civil 3D . Research and interpret deeds, plats, land records, titles, and right-of-way information. Read and prepare metes-and-bounds legal descriptions. Perform QA/QC revisions and ensure compliance with applicable standards and ordinances. Coordinate with field crews, engineers, surveyors, and municipal staff. Maintain organized project files and survey data.
Qualifications:
5+ years of land survey drafting experience in a civil engineering or surveying firm. Advanced AutoCAD Civil 3D skills. Strong knowledge of land surveying, geomatics, and civil infrastructure. Ability to interpret engineering plans, legal descriptions, deeds, and field sketches. Strong attention to detail, communication, and time-management skills. High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree/technical certificate in Drafting, CAD, Geomatics, or Civil Engineering Technology preferred.

$80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
