GED Technical Proficiency Full Job Description Summary/Objective:
Under general supervision, translates, prepares, and finalizes raw data into project deliverables and contract documents in accordance with company standards, municipal/jurisdictional requirements, survey standards, and client requirements. Demonstrates a high level of proficiency using computer assisted engineering and design software to translate data into functional designs for projects varying in size and complexity. Ensures projects adhere to technical specifications and standards through Quality Control/ Quality Assurance practices. Essential Functions Work under minimum supervision to prepare finished drawings from very complex sketches, notes, and verbal instruction. Collect, review, prepare, and maintain project records and documentation Analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete the drawings Utilize computer-assisted design software and equipment for a variety of projects ranging in size, scope, and complexity in accordance with company standards and project specifications Conduct research of recorded documents and deeds Independently analyze work product to ensure compliance and Quality Control/Quality Assurance Monitor budget hours and schedule for assigned projects/tasks and bring any issues or concerns to the attention of the project manager Assist in preparing calculations and drafting estimates for proposed projects Develop and maintain trusted relationships with multidisciplinary team members Assist in training and resolving tasks or drawing project production issues for less experienced technicians Perform other duties as required Education/Experience High School diploma or equivalent required College credits in surveying technology or related field a plus 4+ years of applicable experience (applicable education or certification will be considered) Surveyor-In-Training (SIT) certification preferred May require a valid driver's license for periodic field work or site visits Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrates ability to successfully engage with professionals and clients in a multi-disciplinary environment, communicates with team members; builds relationships and trust Proficient with topographic and boundary surveys, and

Land Title Surveys Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D required Familiarity with Microstation, Bentley OpenRoads, and Trimble Business Center preferred Foundational point cloud experience (TBC, Pix4D, Mach 9, etc.) preferred Proficient in general documentation software such as Microsoft Suite, Bluebeam, PowerPoint, etc. Working knowledge of land surveying principles and instruments Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Demonstrates ability to effectively execute assignments of increased size and complexity Effectively and proactively conveys information through verbal and written communication Requires minimal supervision to complete assigned work Effectively maintains office and field health & safety requirements and protocols Maintains a work schedule conducive to team collaboration and project-specific requirements Physical Requirements Involves sitting a considerable amount of the time May exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to move objects Occasionally lifts and carries up to 25 pounds Considerable time is spent at a workstation using a computer and using various forms of communication (telephone, email, messaging, etc.) Any field work assignments will require exposure to outside weather conditions and various environmental conditions depending on the site Physical activities include walking and occasional stooping and crouching This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties and/or responsibilities required of the employee for this position.
