A Surveyor measures the surface of the Earth and collects data used to make maps, set boundaries, and determine the shape and contour of sections of land. Uses global positioning system (GPS) and global information system (GIS) technology to make measurements. May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Survey Party Crew Chief West Virginia & Virginia Join a team that values quality, professionalism, and challenging work.
TERRADON
Corporation is seeking a motivated Survey Party Crew Chief to lead field survey operations throughout West Virginia and Virginia. We are looking for a professional who takes pride in delivering accurate work, leading by example, and maintaining a strong commitment to safety and client service. Extensive surveying experience is preferred; however, we will consider candidates with varying levels of experience who demonstrate strong technical ability, leadership potential, and a desire to grow within our organization. Responsibilities
  • Lead and direct field survey crews on a variety of projects including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction layout, utility, transportation, and infrastructure surveys.
  • Operate GPS, robotic total stations, digital levels, data collectors, and other modern survey equipment.
  • Ensure field data is accurate, complete, and properly documented.
  • Coordinate daily field activities with project managers and office staff.
  • Maintain survey equipment and company vehicles.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Travel throughout West Virginia and Virginia as project needs require. Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive surveying experience preferred.
  • Experience leading survey crews.
  • Proficiency with GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors, and modern survey equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, construction drawings, and legal descriptions.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. What We Offer
