Job Description
Responsibilities Plan, cultivate, and maintain organic vegetable, fruit, herb, and ornamental gardens. Develop and implement sustainable farming practices that promote soil health, biodiversity, and environmental stewardship. Grow seasonal produce for our farm-to-table meal program. Manage composting, irrigation, fertilization, mulching, and natural pest management using organic methods. Maintain fruit trees, edible landscapes, and greenhouse or nursery areas, if applicable. Select and grow a wide variety of Chinese and Asian vegetables, herbs, fruits, and medicinal plants. Apply knowledge of traditional Chinese gardening principles and Feng Shui where appropriate in garden planning and landscape design. Maintain garden tools, equipment, and outdoor workspaces in a safe and organized manner. Collaborate with school leadership to enhance the campus landscape and support sustainability initiatives. Occasionally engage children in age-appropriate gardening experiences and model safe gardening practices. Assist with seasonal planting, harvesting, special events, and campus beautification projects.
