ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking a mid-level Aerospace Technician to help build, wire, integrate, and test the hardware behind our electromagnetic launch systems. This is a hands-on role spanning mechanical and electromechanical assembly, cable and harness fabrication, soldering, and test support on the bench and on test stands. You will work from engineering drawings, work instructions, and travelers, partner closely with engineering, and help troubleshoot issues on the floor. The ideal candidate has a few years of hands-on experience with complex hardware, takes pride in precise, high-quality work, and thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assemble mechanical and electromechanical components and subassemblies from drawings, work instructions, and travelers. Fabricate, route, and install wiring harnesses and cables, and perform hand soldering in accordance with
IPC J-STD-001
standards. Support integration of subsystems into higher-level assemblies and complete systems. Set up and operate test equipment, run functional and acceptance tests, and record results on data sheets or in an electronic collection system. Troubleshoot assembly and test failures alongside engineering, and support root-cause and corrective action. Inspect and measure parts and assemblies using calipers, micrometers, torque tools, and other equipment to verify they meet spec. Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and electrostatic discharge (ESD) practices, and follow all safety procedures. Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment, and keep the shop and lab clean, organized, and safe. Provide guidance to junior technicians as needed and help improve processes, quality, and throughput.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED. 3+ years of hands-on technician experience in assembly, integration, or test, ideally with aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability hardware. Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, blueprints, and work instructions. Experience with hand soldering and electromechanical assembly. Proficiency with measuring and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and torque tools. Familiarity with proper PPE and ESD handling practices. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and safety awareness. Good communication skills and a team-first attitude. Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
IPC J-STD-001 and/or
IPC-A-610
certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire. Associate degree or a vocational/technical certificate in a related field. Experience with test equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, thermal chambers, and data acquisition systems. Experience in a start-up, rapid prototyping, or aerospace/defense development environment. Familiarity with AS9100 or
ISO 9001
quality systems. Passion for advanced manufacturing and next-generation space and defense systems.
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
