Under general supervision, the Senior Test Technician tests, troubleshoots, analyzes, and repairs complex analog and digital electronic assemblies in a production environment. The role supports NPI and prototype bring-up, failure analysis, test equipment/fixture development, and component-level repair.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, DMMs, ATE, and other test equipment. Test and troubleshoot complex analog/digital PCBs and electronic assemblies to the component level. Perform failure analysis, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions. Develop and modify test procedures, fixtures, equipment, and debug applications. Install and debug software programming and test applications. Solder and de-solder surface-mount and through-hole components. Create bug lists, debug procedures, and test/rework documentation. Support NPI testing and assist engineering with prototype bring-up. Collect test and rework data and complete system transactions. Provide training and technical support to junior technicians and test operators.
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of experience testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic assemblies, preferably in production. Strong knowledge of analog/digital circuitry and electronic components. Experience with standard electronic test equipment and ATE. Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings. Strong failure analysis, troubleshooting, soldering, and rework skills. Intermediate computer skills, including Word, Excel, databases, and presentation software. Strong communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, and customer-service skills. BSEET preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Manufacturing environment with production equipment, forklifts, noise, heat, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles. Requires close vision, computer/keyboard use, manual dexterity for small parts, and ability to lift/move equipment or boxes up to 25 lbs.
