Job Summary:
This client-facing position provides technical service and support for the Modal Acoustic Emission (MAE) group's internal and external customers. This position facilitates the process of rapid recertification of composite wound pressure cylinders installed in mobile trailers under the purview of the US DOT/PHMSA and Transport Canada and is critical to supporting the rapidly growing business segment of the company. This position is responsible to support the installation of sensors, perform coupling checks, and help the data acquisition process during the performance of critical pressure tests. MAE Level 1 Technicians effectively collaborate with Level 2 Technicians and other diverse engineering teams to improve inspection processes, gain efficiencies, and contribute to a culture of continual improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support critical MAE inspections of test articles to a written test procedure. Assist with the performance of visual inspections of test articles to a written test procedure. Capture, record, and ensure test data quality. Travel 50% of the time to customer sites throughout the United States & Canada. Ensure safety of personnel and product is uncompromised during testing procedures. Communicate internally, field issues, suggestions, and areas for improvement regarding the testing process. Education, Certifications & Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required AAS in a technical field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Preferred. Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated hands-on and mechanical skills in a highly skilled environment preferred where product safety is vital and following processes is critical ANST Level 1 certification in UT, AET, or ET preferred. Experience providing trouble-shooting support and related solutions for customers preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to people with varying levels of technical competencies to support testing activities. Strong analytical skills including problem solving skills and ability to determine root causes. Mechanical ability whether formal or informal strongly preferred Strong people skills, including the ability to present a professional image at all times to customers Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to work in a shop and team environment Able to complete projects in assigned work areas Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment with a strong sense of urgency

This position may work in the plant and outdoors in the field, therefore subject to all weather conditions sometimes to include extreme cold and heat. The work described while working in the plant or field will require wearing all PPE depending on circumstance which may include: safety glasses, hard hat, ear protection, leather gloves, FR clothing, safety vest and steel toed boots.
