The Test Engineering Technician II will support the environmental testing and evaluation of aerospace mechanisms and spaceflight hardware. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to safely operate test equipment while following established procedures and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with aerospace hardware, environmental testing, electronic test equipment, mechanical inspection tools, and technical work instructions. Key Responsibilities Perform environmental testing of aerospace mechanisms using established procedures. Conduct static load, thermal vacuum, benchtop operational, separation, shock, and vibration testing. Operate spaceflight hardware, test fixtures, and data-acquisition systems. Install and remove components from spaceflight hardware. Inspect mechanical and electrical components following test completion. Perform routine maintenance on test fixtures and equipment. Identify and recommend opportunities to improve testing and production processes. Assist with nonconformance investigations and corrective-action activities. Accurately follow technical procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements. Maintain a high standard of workmanship throughout all testing and inspection activities. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Four or more years of relevant technical, manufacturing, aerospace, or testing experience. Experience using common aerospace assembly and inspection tools, including: Torque wrenches Load cells Feeler gauges Calipers Multimeters Experience using electronic test equipment, such as digital multimeters, power supplies, and data-acquisition systems. Strong manual dexterity and the ability to handle small components and fasteners, including sizes as small as #0-80. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to follow detailed technical procedures. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to comply with federally mandated U.S. export-control requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in an aerospace cleanroom environment. Experience supporting or writing technical work instructions related to environmental testing. Knowledge of quality-management systems, including AS9100. Understanding of advanced electronic circuitry. Experience supporting prototype development or production. Ability to develop practical and timely solutions in a fast-paced testing environment.
