The Test Technician is responsible for RF and microwave product testing, test documentation, automation support, and troubleshooting. This role requires hands-on VNA operation through 70 and 110 GHz and the ability to manage assigned work independently. Product Testing and Laboratory Support Set up, calibrate, and operate vector network analyzers (VNAs) for measurements through 70 and 110 GHz. Perform product testing and record S-parameters, insertion loss, return loss, isolation, balance, and phase as applicable. Operate equivalent-time sampling oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other electronic test equipment as required. Follow test procedures and acceptance criteria; document results, nonconformances, and troubleshooting findings accurately. Troubleshoot the device under test, calibration, cables, adapters, fixtures, and overall test setup. Maintain organized test records, equipment status, calibration kits, test accessories, and laboratory work areas. Other duties and/or special projects as assigned. Test Automation and Cross-Functional Collaboration Support the development and improvement of repeatable test methods and automated test processes. Write, modify, and maintain LabVIEW programs for instrument control, data collection, analysis, and reporting. Work with Engineering to convert manual measurement sequences into reliable automated tests. Assist with the assembly, calibration, verification, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and prototypes. Communicate test status, equipment issues, nonconformances, and schedule risks to the team. Collaborate across departments while demonstrating initiative, accountability, and ownership of assigned work. Qualifications and Experience Associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred. 3+ years of electronics, RF, microwave, manufacturing test, or related laboratory experience preferred. Hands-on experience setting up, calibrating, and operating VNAs through 70 and 110 GHz is required. Working knowledge of S-parameters and fundamental RF and microwave measurement practices. Experience writing LabVIEW test programs is preferred; aptitude and willingness to learn LabVIEW are required. Ability to read and follow test procedures, drawings, schematics, specifications, and acceptance criteria. Experience with RF connectors, cables, adapters, calibration standards, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers preferred. Skills and Attributes Self-starter who can prioritize work, solve routine problems, and complete assignments independently with limited supervision. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, including judgment regarding when to escalate an issue. Strong attention to detail, organization, documentation, and follow-through.
