PC Test Technician I

POSITION SUMMARY
The PC Test Technician I is responsible for inspecting and testing electronic aircraft components on communication, navigation and flight control systems.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts operational, visual and functional testing to ensure strict compliance with Gables Engineering's Quality standards.
Tests include:
Visual inspection
Continuity tests
Functional tests
Software flashing Utilizes test equipment to monitor and simulate transmission of data along
ARINC 429, CSDB
signals and CAN simulator
Documents test results via acceptance test reports ensuring UUT has complete testing documentation and is ready for inspection
Diagnoses the cause of malfunctions, identifies failures, and performs basic repairs of defective components based on analysis of test results
Participates in audits conducted by clients and Federal Aviation Administration personnel as necessary
Strong computer knowledge to run dedicated testing software
JOB SKILLS REQUIRED
Strong electronic theory and troubleshooting skills (component level)
Ability to read and interpret drawing, schematics, and technical manuals
Knowledge of various test equipment to include multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other special avionic test equipment to support environmental testing
Good organizational skills and the ability to support several projects and engineers while balancing priorities and schedules as necessary
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well with employees at all levels
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
S. degree in electronics or equivalent military/technical trade experience
Minimum 1 year of electronic experience (avionics preferred)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Light Work- This role may require exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to lift carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Most essential functions are performed while sitting but walking and standing is occasionally Manual dexterity is required in the assembly or fabrication of parts which may result in the repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
