Position Overview This Electrical Test Technician role supports Tech Platform Initiatives, working hands-on with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) test systems. The technician will build, assemble, and maintain wiring harnesses and test benches used to validate next-generation products, working closely with engineers and other technicians in a collaborative, safety-focused lab environment. Key Responsibilities Receive harness build work orders from the engineering team and review them to clarify requirements. Cut, crimp, and assemble wiring to build harnesses based on engineering specifications. Assemble completed harnesses into HiL test benches. Use power tools to build test panels as needed to support bench assembly. Collaborate with the engineering team and lead technician throughout the harness build and bench assembly process. Team Structure & Work Environment Works as part of a team that includes engineers and other technicians. Lab-based (soft lab) work environment; certain tasks require PPE such as safety glasses and gloves.
High school diploma or GED required and a minimum of 0-2 years of technical experience Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, Diesel Power Equipment Technology, or a related field is desired.
Required Skills:
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, pin maps, connector datasheets, and BOMs. Build, modify, repair, and test wiring harnesses, connectors, load plates, and I/O panels. Perform crimping, soldering, splicing, continuity testing, and cable management. Strong attention to detail. Update documentation and maintain traceability records. Comfortable working with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with 5S lab practices. Teamwork orientation. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Reliability and dependability.
Desired Skills:
Load plate assembly experience. Communication and network skills (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, analog/digital I/O, power distribution) and familiarity with test equipment to diagnose issues and maintain test bench readiness.
