Job Description

Talascend is currently seeking a Chassis Test Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Dearborn, Michigan. Overview The role involves supporting vehicle testing, data collection, diagnosis, calibration, and maintenance of test equipment to ensure high-quality experimental data and operational efficiency. The technician will work closely with engineering teams at the Dearborn location. Responsibilities Support execution of test procedures while collecting high-quality data using specialized equipment. Assist in diagnosis and resolution of issues related to test units, equipment control software, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems. Collaborate directly with engineers to operate under experimental conditions. Support calibration and maintenance of test equipment for accuracy and ISO compliance. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Good computer skills and ability to learn new skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong customer service and organizational skills. Basic knowledge of internal combustion engines, fuel systems, components, or material properties. Ability to learn and follow detailed test procedures while recording data. Ability to drive or learn to drive manual transmission vehicles. Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education. Preferred Qualifications Associates degree or technical school certification. Two or more years of experience testing powertrains, engines, fuel systems, emissions, chassis components, or material properties. Experience operating or calibrating emissions analyzers, flow meters, or tensile test machines. Valid driver's license. Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of testing equipment and software used in engine, fuel system, or material testing environments. Knowledge of emissions equipment such as Horiba or AVL gas analyzers, Smoke Meters, or Opacity meters. Ability to diagnose issues with engines, powertrains, or experimental test setups.
