Job Description

As Chefman's connected appliance portfolio grows, we're looking for a hands-on Test Technician to support our firmware team's testing lab. You'll work closely with a senior team member, reviewing testing requests from Product Managers, setting up equipment, and collecting the data our engineers need to validate product performance. No prior experience required — we'll train you on our equipment and testing processes. Essential Functions and Duties Review testing reports and requests from Product Managers to determine what needs to be tested next and prioritize accordingly Set up test equipment for each testing scenario, including data loggers and thermocouples Attach thermocouples correctly to measure temperature at specified points on appliances and circuit boards Collect, record, and organize temperature and performance data using data logging equipment Test Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity features on connected devices Monitor iOS and Android platform updates and flag anything that could affect how our Mahproducts connect or perform Log and track issues clearly in Jira, including steps to reproduce and relevant supporting data Maintain the physical test lab, keeping equipment calibrated, organized, and ready for the next test cycle Physical Demands and Abilities Working at a computer and in a lab/testing environment Comfortable handling small electronic components and test equipment, including circuit boards Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with the testing team and Product Managers Education, Experience and Skills No prior lab or QA experience required, training will be provided Comfortable working with basic electronics and small components, including circuit boards Strong attention to detail, especially when following test setup instructions precisely Able to read and follow written testing requests and equipment instructions accurately Comfortable using computers and willing to learn tools like Jira, data logging software, and mobile app simulators Operates well under a sense of urgency and stays calm under pressure Able to manage multiple testing tasks at once and follow them through to completion
