ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented SMT Test Technician to join our production team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and diagnosing complex surface-mount technology (SMT) printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) down to the component level. You will work closely with process and quality engineers to ensure our products meet strict reliability and IPC standards.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform functional, in-circuit (ICT), and automated optical/X-ray testing on SMT PCBAs. Diagnose board failures down to the component level using schematics, multimeters, and oscilloscopes. Perform component-level rework, soldering, and replacement on defective surface-mount components. Set up, calibrate, and maintain test fixtures, programming equipment, and diagnostic tools. Verify solder joint quality, trace continuity, and component orientation to enforceIPC-A-610
quality standards. Log test results, defect trends, and pass/fail metrics in our Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Collaborate with engineering teams to report recurring assembly defects and improve test programming efficiency.QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
2+ years of hands-on experience in electronics testing, PCBA troubleshooting, and SMT assembly environments.Technical Skills:
Proficient with diagnostic equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, ICT/FCT testers) and reading complex schematics.Soldering Skills:
Manual dexterity and experience with fine-pitch surface-mount soldering/rework.Standards:
Familiarity withIPC-A-610
standards and ESD safety protocols.Education:
Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Military Electronics Training, or equivalent technical trade certification preferred.salary:
