AB_5056402 We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Test Technician to join our manufacturing and assembly team in Ronkonkoma, NY. In this hands-on role, you will perform functional, electrical, and mechanical testing on electronic sub-assemblies, printed circuit boards (PCBAs), and completed products to ensure compliance with strict quality and engineering specifications. You will collaborate closely with engineering and production departments to isolate defects, troubleshoot component-level failures, and support product reliability.
salary:
$70,000 - $75,000 per year shift: First work hours: 7 AM - 3 PM education:
Associate Responsibilities Testing & Inspection:
Set up and operate automated test equipment (ATE), oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, signal generators, and environmental test chambers to evaluate component and system performance.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics:
Perform component-level troubleshooting on defective circuit boards and sub-assemblies to identify root causes of failure using schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools.
Rework & Repair:
Execute surface-mount (SMT) and through-hole soldering, wiring adjustments, and component replacements on failed assemblies following IPC standards.
Data Documentation:
Accurately log test results, yield metrics, failure analysis report details, and non-conformance records in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) / Quality Management System (QMS).
Calibration & Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on lab equipment and test fixtures to ensure measurement precision.
Process Improvement:
Partner with test and manufacturing engineers to refine test procedures, update documentation, and suggest improvements for test efficiency.
Compliance:
Maintain a clean, safe, and ESD-compliant workstation following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ISO/aerospace quality standards where applicable.
