Mission Control Energy is hiring an Electrical Test Technician to join its growing field team, performing electrical acceptance testing on solar PV and BESS projects and supporting the O&M service line's inspection and preventive maintenance work. This is a field-based, hands-on role: the technician reports to MCE's President and works closely in the field with MCE's Independent Engineer, executing testing and Pre-Commissioning Checklist Package and assisting the O&M team on contracted maintenance visits between commissioning assignments.

Reports to: This role reports directly to the President of Mission Control Energy, LLC for scheduling, assignments, and overall performance.

Field collaboration:

This role works closely in the field with MCE's Independent Engineer on testing and commissioning scope, procedure, and technical quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform

NETA ATS

acceptance testing on low-, medium-, and high-voltage equipment — switchgear, transformers, protective relays, circuit breakers, cables, inverters, and BESS enclosures — per MCE's Inspection and Test Plan. Perform the following tests not to be limited to, Insulation Resistance, IV Curve, Open Circuit Voltage, Ground Grid Resistance, VLF Cable Testing, Surge Arrestor & Air switches testing, CT & PT Testing, Recloser Relay Testing, Fiber Testing, Operating current, Equipment Thermography, Capacity testing. Execute assigned test procedures in close field collaboration with MCE's Independent Engineer; escalate discrepancies and non-conformances promptly. Support pre-commissioning and commissioning site work using MCE's Pre-Commissioning Checklist Package and MCE Field Guide. Assist the O&M team with routine and corrective maintenance visits, equipment inspections, and troubleshooting on contracted solar PV and BESS sites. Conduct infrared/thermal imaging inspections as part of O&M preventive maintenance. Operate standard field testing equipment, including insulation resistance testers, Megger, Omicron or equivalent relay test sets, VLF Tester, and power quality/metering equipment. Interpret single-line diagrams, protection schemes, and relay settings relevant to assigned test procedures. Complete accurate, detailed field test reports and data packages to NETA ATS and applicable interconnection/client standards. Follow NFPA 70E and MCE safety protocols; complete Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) before each task. Travel to project sites throughout MCE's operating footprint (ME, NH, MA, NY, PA, DE, MD, VA, IL, TX), including overnight travel as required. Support on-call or emergency response coverage as business needs require. As MCE's field team grows, mentor and support NETA Level I technicians and trainees.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

certification (minimum). 2+ years of hands-on field experience in electrical acceptance or maintenance testing on power distribution equipment. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. OSHA Electrical Safety / NFPA 70E (or ability to obtain) Working knowledge of

NETA ATS/MTS, IEEE, NERC

PRC, and NESC standards Proficiency with standard electrical test equipment (e.g., Megger, Omicron, or equivalent). Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and protection/relay schemes. Valid driver's license and clean driving record; willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays, across ME, NH, MA, NY, PA, DE, MD, VA, IL, and TX. Ability to work outdoors in all seasons, at heights, and in confined or elevated spaces while wearing required PPE. Strong written communication skills for field documentation and test reporting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prior experience testing or commissioning solar PV and/or battery energy storage systems (BESS). Associate's degree or technical certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology, Power Systems, or a related field. IR thermography training (IEC 62446-3). NETA (II)

NABCEB PV

Commissioning & Maintenance Specialist (PVCMS) Certification Experience working alongside a licensed PE or Independent Engineer on acceptance testing programs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly lift and carry test equipment and tools up to 50 lbs. Climb ladders and work at elevated heights on rooftop, ground-mount, and utility-scale sites. Stand, kneel, and work in outdoor conditions across all four seasons, including heat, cold, and precipitation. Wear and maintain required PPE (arc-rated clothing, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, etc.) for the duration of field assignments.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
