Job Duties:
Prepare samples and carry out tests on cable materials at various stages of production including: Raw material control tests Process control tests Routine tests Investigations Operation of test equipment Perform 5S tasks Prepare samples for tests Defect analysis and root cause investigations Result documentation Utilize good principles of measurement, precision, and uncertainty Use process documentation to perform tests Assist in procedure development and composition Reporting and feedback of test results and deviations to Test Engineer, Test Laboratory Manager, and Process Engineers Communication of results using rigorous scientific methodologyAres of Responsibilty:
Conduct tests on raw materials and cable samples Conduct investigative analysis on cable samples Preparation of equipment before and after testing Follow company and department's governing documents Keep work area tidy and safe Represent Nexans towards client representatives during witnessed testsRequested Qualifications:
Fluent in English High School Diploma, technical secondary education preferred Experience working in a laboratory strongly preferred Quality control testing experience within a manufacturing environment highly desired Proficient in usage of hand tools Proficient in usage of precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometer, etc.) Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required. Ability to quickly learn new software tools including Synergi, TeamCenter, SAP desired. Must be able to read, write, and comprehend plant directives for required document control, equipment operation, and follow direction of supervisors/peer instructions Perform simple mathematics, comprehend and interpret technical manuals and procedures Adaptable, flexible, and resourceful with ability to work independently Ability to comprehend and learn complex scientific topics Must understand and comply with all policies and procedures of Nexans High Voltage USA, Inc. Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test May be required to travel in order to train for short periods in other Nexans plantsBenefits
